If you are stressed about your finances, everything else suffers. Managing your finances does not have to be difficult. In reality, most of your finances can be managed by implementing systems that will allow financial security and freedom to happen automatically. I have been teaching Personal Finance to high school students since 2009. I am a professional at taking concepts meant to confuse and putting them in plain English. I am an expert at using systems to our benefit so our finances can work for us with minimal monthly work and we can focus on what matters in life and brings us joy. ABOUT ME

I am Ms. Rigley and I teach at Berkeley High School in Berkeley, CA. I have been a teacher since 2009 and teach 240 students a year. In 2019 I created my own personal finance class called Personal Finance: Dream, Plan, Execute, Thrive.

Out of college I worked in wealth management for 3 years before becoming a teacher to teach personal finance to high school seniors. It enraged me that basic personal finance was not taught in high school or college so I decided to become a teacher and do something about it.  For 7 years I squeezed personal finance into my AP Macroeconomics class. In 2019 I decided to create my own year long personal finance class and give my students the personal finance education they deserved.  In 2020 Personal Finance: Dream, Plan, Execute, Thrive, took flight. 

Personal finance education is everything and yet only a required high school class in 6 states. This does not work for me or the majority of Americans who are struggling with their finances in some form. I am on a mission to make personal finance a required high school course for all seniors and to expand personal finance education to include dream work, achieving the impossible and career exploration. 

Personal finance is deeply connected to our level of satisfaction in all aspects of our life. For this reason, personal finance education has to also teach our young people how to dream bigger, achieve the impossible and discover a career that sets their soul on fire. In order for students to achieve their financial desires, they have to know how to succeed in all aspects of their life. I want all students to have the skills and knowledge to reach for and create their best life each and every day. It is my lifeś mission to empower all young people to dream bigger and thrive with their finances from day 1 of adulthood.
